Buzz: Killer Espresso - Chicago
Buzz Killer Espresso has a killer work space. It's a three-story coffee shop (if you count the outside patio). The massive windows opened up to give you a panoramic street view of Damen Ave, in Wicker Park.
Of course one regular customer noted that in the winter, even with the windows closed, it can get pretty chilly. It's just going to happen with glass taking up that much surface space people.
But for this particular I-can-feel-summer-around-the-corner day, it was perfection.
#CoffeeAngel Andrés allowed me to try their cold brew and what I believe was their Ethiopian blend (in addition to the Cortado I already ordered....)
The blend definitely had a tea-like body with higher notes. It could serve you as an everyday drink - nothing too bold or too particular in taste that you would tire of it easily.
I absolutely loved the cold brew - no cream needed. As far as the Cortado goes, it's no La Colombe Cortado, but I obviously still enjoyed it. #CoffeeAngel Andres was so helpful and very informative. He even gave me some of his personal Chicago favorites: Caffe Streets and Gaslight Coffee. I'll have to add those on my already, very lengthy list.
Again, I know this isn't a food blog but I am going to take this time to shout out to some amazing food stops around the corner. You have to check out BroBagel and/or Dimo's Pizza. Bro Bagels had so many varieties of spreads and styles and is super fresh. And Dimo's Pizza had the craziest, most delicious blends like a vegan mac n' cheese pizza to a Chicken & Waffle pizza. Yeah. I do feel that Chicken & Waffles needs to be capitalized.
Anyway, I am going to give you a little visual tour and just let the photos do the talking.
It really was a great visit. Man, Chicago - you are blowing me out of the water with these spaces.
Mugs Up,
The Coffee Nomad
